The current Junaeb administration filed a complaint with the Public Ministry over alleged fraud in school feeding program tenders in the O’Higgins Region, involving payments exceeding 14 billion pesos.
On Tuesday the National Board of School Aid and Scholarships reported nine people and three companies to the prosecutor’s office over irregularities in PAE tender 18-20. Prosecutor Constanza Encina will review the files, which include contracts with company Soser and modifications that enabled payments for unrendered services between 2021 and 2023.
The submitted documents detail that Junaeb paid Soser more than 14.363 billion pesos for projected but undelivered snack rations. The audit highlights flaws in the tender bases prepared by Inventia Consultores and contractual adjustments approved without Contraloría oversight.
Former director Camila Rubio described the accusations as “injuriosa” and “irresponsable”. She noted the process had already been investigated previously and said she is evaluating legal actions with her lawyers.
