Junior Starlets qualify for women's under-17 World Cup

Kenya's Junior Starlets under-17 women's team has qualified for the World Cup after beating South Africa 3-1 in the return leg.

The match took place yesterday at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi. Kenya won 5-1 on aggregate after a 2-0 victory in the first leg in Pretoria last week.

The finals will be held in Morocco from October 17 to November 8 this year. It is the second time the team has qualified following their debut appearance in 2024.

Gaudencia Maloba equalized in the 70th minute. Brenda Awuor scored from a penalty and Elizabeth Alizeba Achieng added a third goal in stoppage time.
