A Lagos State High Court has issued an interim order stopping further demolition at Roseville Gardens Estate in Ogombo. The ruling affects a developer, a bank and several government officials.
Justice Sharafa Abioye Olaitan of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Epe granted the order on Monday after an ex parte application by eleven property owners. The claimants, led by Sunny Okeke Akubude, Zeniatu Rosemary Elewonibi and Osunlakin Akinola Abass, represent fifteen other owners of about fifty plots in the estate. The court restrained Multi-Purpose Infrastructure Development Construction Limited, Abbey Mortgage Bank Limited and seven other defendants from carrying out further demolition, trespass or interference with the properties. It also barred any transfer of interests in the land pending the motion on notice. The matter, marked EPD/19014LMW/2026, was adjourned to 9 June 2026 for hearing of the interlocutory injunction application. Claimants say they hold valid titles including Governor’s Consent and building approvals.
