LATAM Colombia airline transported over 300 tons of humanitarian aid and 289 people to Venezuela following recent earthquakes.
The operation was carried out through LATAM’s Avión Solidario program. It included rescue teams from Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Spain, along with seven search dogs, medical supplies and non-perishable food.
Érika Zarante, CEO of LATAM Colombia, stated that every minute counts in emergencies and that the airline’s connectivity supports affected communities. Company employees collected an additional 35 tons of donations.
The airline activated a special route from Bogotá to Barcelona, Venezuela, with flights on Mondays and Fridays throughout July. This action adds to the Avión Solidario program’s 50 alliances, which have moved more than 9,000 tons of solidarity cargo since 2021.
