Swedish forward Linus Weissbach is leaving Frölunda to continue his career in the KHL. The 28-year-old reached the decision after two seasons back in his home club.
Weissbach returned to Frölunda ahead of the 2024/25 season following eight years in North America. He had played junior hockey in the USHL, college hockey at the University of Wisconsin and several seasons in the AHL with the Rochester Americans.
The move comes after Frölunda announced in the spring that the two sides would part ways. Weissbach dealt with injuries last season and appeared in 33 games, recording 13 points.
He played a total of 80 games for Frölunda across the two seasons. His career will now continue in Russia.
