Luleå Hockey nears purchase of Coop Norrbotten Arena for 137 million kronor

Luleå municipality and Luleå Hockey have reached a letter of intent for the sale of Coop Norrbotten Arena to the club. The facility, currently owned by the municipality and operated by the team, is priced at 137 million kronor according to NSD. This agreement follows discussions on the arena's future and the club's investment plans.

Luleå kommun and Luleå Hockey have produced an avsiktsförklaring, or letter of intent, representing a key step toward the municipality selling Coop Norrbotten Arena to the hockey club. The arena is presently owned by the municipality, with Luleå Hockey handling operations and maintenance. Recent years have seen debates over the future of the arena, adjacent halls, and surrounding land. The club has expressed a desire to invest in the venue, but the municipality previously viewed such expenditures as outside its investment priorities. The reported price stands at 137 million kronor, as noted by NSD. This preliminary accord sets the stage for further negotiations toward a final agreement.
