Matt Damon joins Fortnite as Odysseus

Epic Games has announced a crossover between Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and Fortnite. The collaboration brings Matt Damon's version of the Trojan War hero to the battle royale game.

The announcement coincided with the release of a teaser on July 15 showing scenes from the film recreated in Fortnite. These include Odysseus leading his men ashore, confronting a cyclops, and using the Trojan horse to capture Troy.

Leaks indicate players will be able to play as the Matt Damon version of Odysseus. The full crossover is scheduled to arrive later this week alongside the movie's theatrical release.

An Odyssey-themed Fortnite Cup was scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on July 15. Top competitors in the event were set to receive early access to related cosmetic rewards before they appear in the in-game shop.
