Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey reached cinemas on July 17 with an original score by Ludwig Göransson and additional songs. The film earned $264 million in its opening weekend globally.
The blockbuster adapts Homer's ancient Greek poem and stars Matt Damon as Odysseus. Tom Holland plays his son Telemachus and Anne Hathaway appears as Penelope. Other cast members include Zendaya, Robert Pattinson and Lupita Nyong'o.
Göransson composed the score for his third project with Nolan. The end-credits song When I’m Home features Göransson alongside James Blake and Travis Scott, with Nolan credited as co-writer. Scott also has a role in the film as a bard.
Samantha Morton, who portrays the goddess Circe, appears on the track titled Circe. The full soundtrack contains 23 pieces, among them Zeus’s Law, Ithaca and The Trial Of The Bow / Vengeance.
