Mike D announces first solo tour and album release

Mike D, a founding member of the Beastie Boys, will launch his first solo tour this summer with a five-date run across the eastern United States.

The tour, backed by the group 5D that includes his sons Skyler and Davis Diamond along with Eddie Ruscha, Will Graefe and Milo Ruscha, begins August 30 in Boston.

Additional stops are set for Washington, D.C., on September 1, Asheville, North Carolina, on September 3, Atlanta on September 5 and Queens, New York, on September 9.

The dates coincide with the August 28 release of his debut solo album Thank You, which contains 10 tracks including the psychedelic rocker "What We Got" and the jazzy "Switch Up."

Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Eastern time on June 26, following presales that begin June 25. Information is available on the Mike D 5D website.
