Argentine President Javier Milei will travel to Madrid to participate in the Madrid Economic Forum, organized by cryptocurrency-promoting companies, and meet liberal figures. This is his fourth visit to Spain since taking office, and it is not an official tour. He will also receive a prize in honor of Ludwig von Mises.
President Javier Milei, who recently attended the inauguration of Chile's new president José Antonio Kast, departed for Madrid on Thursday night and will arrive on Friday midday. This visit, his fourth to the Iberian country since assuming office at the Casa Rosada, includes meetings with liberal politicians aligned with his ideas.
The main activities are scheduled for Saturday, March 14. At 6 a.m. Argentine time, Milei will meet Santiago Abascal, president of the VOX party and deputy in the Cortes Generales for Madrid. Later, he will meet Spanish economist Jesús Huerta de Soto, a promoter of libertarian ideas whom Milei considers one of the most respected academics in the liberal ecosystem.
In the afternoon, after 4 p.m. Argentine time, Milei will close the Madrid Economic Forum at the Palacio Vistalegre. The event, organized by companies Racks Labs and Abast Global, based in Andorra, focuses on topics such as entrepreneurship, cultural battle, investment, communication, and artificial intelligence, according to EFE agency. He will share the stage with conservative economists like Juan Ramón Rallo and Daniel Lacalle, and communicator Vito Quiles.
Víctor Domínguez, founder of Racks Labs and promoter of libertarian ideas, is one of the hosts; in 2022 he launched the cryptocurrency “Mr Crypto by RacksMafia”. In his speech, anti-woke slogans, a defense of his management in Argentina, and criticisms of Spanish President Pedro Sánchez are expected.
Finally, he will receive a prize in honor of Ludwig von Mises from German economist Philipp Bagus, a representative of the Austrian School admired by Milei. On Sunday at 9 a.m., Milei will return to Buenos Aires.
