Major League Baseball investigators have questioned Los Angeles Dodgers team doctor Neal ElAttrache following reports of his involvement in performance-enhancing drug use by UFC fighter Conor McGregor.
The inquiry centers on ElAttrache's role after McGregor broke both bones in his lower left leg during a 2021 UFC bout. ElAttrache oversaw surgery to repair the damage and referred McGregor to a specialist who prescribed banned substances.
ElAttrache told The New York Times he was not involved in the evaluation or prescribing of medication. He stated that expert opinions indicated the drugs could help optimize healing of the fractures.
In a statement after meeting MLB investigators, ElAttrache said he is comfortable with the league's process and that his record is clean. MLB is conducting the review as due diligence and has no allegations of similar conduct involving baseball players.
