The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority has issued a forecast warning of continued rainfall across multiple counties, including Nairobi, through May 25.
The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority released its weekly forecast on May 18. It stated that counties east of the Rift Valley, such as Nairobi, Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Embu, Meru, Laikipia, and Tharaka-Nithi, will see intermittent rainfall.
KMSA noted that residents can expect cloudy mornings followed by afternoon showers and thunderstorms. “Rainfall is expected to continue in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley in the latest forecast,” the agency said.
Western counties including Kericho, Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Nakuru, and Kisumu are also projected to receive downpours. In contrast, northeastern areas like Wajir and Mandera will mostly have sunny intervals with possible brief morning showers.
Northwestern regions such as Turkana will see mainly sunny days, while coastal areas including Mombasa are forecast to experience warm conditions with occasional showers at night.
