The National Museum of Korea welcomed over 6.5 million visitors in 2025, marking the highest annual figure in its 80-year history since opening. This represents a 1.7-fold increase from 3.79 million in 2024, underscoring growing public interest. The museum director pledged to enhance exhibitions and services in response to this trust.

The National Museum of Korea recorded 6,507,483 visitors in 2025, achieving the highest annual total since its establishment in 1945. This marks a 1.7-fold rise from the 3.79 million visitors in 2024. According to the London-based The Art Newspaper, only the Louvre with 8.74 million and the Vatican Museums with 6.83 million exceeded 6.5 million visitors worldwide in 2024.

When including its 13 affiliated museums across the country, the total reached 14,773,111 visitors last year. Museum Director You Hong-june stated that the record "reflects the public's expectations and interest for us to do even better."

"In 2026, we will strive to meet the public's trust with exhibitions and services of even higher quality," he added.

This achievement highlights the surging interest in Korean culture both domestically and internationally, with the museum committed to sustaining this momentum.
