Ndarboy genk partners with dompet dhuafa for sumatra charity event

Thousands of Yogyakarta residents crowded Jalan Malioboro on December 17, 2025, for the Ngamen Untuk Sumatra event, an initiative by Ndarboy Genk to raise funds for disaster survivors in Sumatra. The music event partnered with Dompet Dhuafa for donation distribution. It collected Rp29,394,328 and various donated goods.

The Ngamen Untuk Sumatra event took place in front of Jogja Library Center on Jalan Malioboro, Yogyakarta, on the night of Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Initiated by Daru Jaya, known as Ndarboy Genk, it united Yogyakarta's musicians and artists in music performances to raise funds for disaster survivors in Sumatra.

Opened by Angklung Arieska's performance, the event grew lively with artists like Damara De, DJ Paws, Banditoz Yaow 86, Gantaz, Tedjo Badut, Sri Khrisna, and Sadewok. Even Marrel Suryokusumo, grandson of Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, joined to rap on stage.

"This is a caring movement for Sumatra from us Yogyakarta musicians and artists. Although the preparation was impromptu, many musicians, artists, and parties helped, including Dompet Dhuafa which will be the partner for aid distribution later,” said Daru, quoted on December 19, 2025.

Ndarboy Genk accepted donations in cash and goods, with QRIS donations open until December 20. From the live event, Rp. 29,394,328 was collected along with donated items to be handed over to Dompet Dhuafa's Yogyakarta branch by the Mabes Balker team.

"Meanwhile, from the ngamen results, Rp. 29,394,328 in cash was collected and various types of goods donated by attendees. For QRIS, I will update periodically as donations are still open,” stated Ndarboy.

Additionally, there is an auction of musical instruments used, monitored via Instagram @ndarboy_genk, @dompetdhuafaorg, and @dompetdhuafadiy. “Anyway, thanks for the donations and participation. Definitely trustworthy and I will oversee until distribution," he added.

Muhammad Zahron, head of Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta, welcomed the partnership. "Thank you to Mas Daru Jaya Ndarboy Genk for partnering with Dompet Dhuafa as the donation distribution partner. Insya Allah, we will together deliver the donors' trust from the Ngamen Untuk Sumatra event to our brothers in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra," explained Zahron.

The event was supported by Mabes Balker, Smallframe Yogyakarta, Harley Dajogja, Artisan, Boycord, Kompas Malioboro, Bravo Guard, Paguyuban Seniman Malioboro, Sushi Tei, Institut Musik Jalanan, Cleo, Goescut, After Look Hair Studio, and Dompet Dhuafa.
