New Balance is set to launch a collaboration with Basketcase Gallery featuring the Gator Run sneaker in a peanut butter and jelly colorway. The release marks the return of the model after a long absence. It becomes available online on June 19.
The Los Angeles-based streetwear brand Basketcase Gallery worked with New Balance on the project. The design draws from the Gator Run, originally released in 1982 for cross-training in sports such as lacrosse, softball, and football.
Jelly-toned suede covers most of the upper, paired with baby-blue midfoot panels. A dark brown outsole represents the crust, while cream linings evoke bread. Braided laces add a distinctive detail.
A second lemon-lime colorway is also part of the collection. Both versions go on sale through the New Balance website on June 19.
