Newcastle United have announced the signing of 20-year-old Ivorian winger Bazoumana Toure from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim. The deal, completed on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee, marks the club's second summer addition. Toure featured three times for Ivory Coast at the recent World Cup.
The Premier League side confirmed the transfer on July 5. Toure becomes the second new arrival after goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen joined earlier in the week.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe welcomed the player in a club statement. “We’re really pleased to have been able to bring Bazoumana to Newcastle United,” Howe said. “He has shown his ability to perform in a top European league during his time in Germany and has gained really good experience with his national team, especially at this summer’s World Cup.”
Toure expressed excitement about the move. “Newcastle is like a family, which will help me show my best on the pitch,” he said. “I’m very excited to join Newcastle and I can’t wait to meet my team-mates, the supporters and everybody at the club.”
