NTA releases JEE Main 2026 session 1 results on official websites

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2026 session 1 results on February 16, 2026, allowing over 13 lakh candidates to access their scorecards online. Results are available on jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in, featuring percentile scores but excluding cutoffs and All India Ranks. Students are advised to avoid fake websites mimicking official portals to prevent scams.

The JEE Main 2026 session 1 examination took place from January 21 to 29 in computer-based mode, with two daily shifts: morning from 9 am to 12 noon and afternoon from 3 pm to 6 pm. More than 13 lakh candidates participated, competing for admissions to BTech, BArch, and BPlanning programs at institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

NTA announced the results on February 16, 2026, via official websites jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in. Candidates can download scorecards by entering their application number, password or date of birth, and a security pin. The scorecard displays percentile scores for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and an overall aggregate, along with a toppers list. NTA applies a normalization process to convert raw marks into percentiles ranging from 100 to 0, ensuring fairness across shifts.

Raw scores are calculated as: four marks for correct answers, minus one for incorrect, and zero for unattempted questions. The NTA has clarified that session 1 results do not include cutoffs or All India Ranks, which will follow session 2 in April. The top 2.5 lakh candidates qualify for JEE Advanced 2026, scheduled for May 17.

To avoid scams, NTA warns against fake sites such as jeemains.in, jeemain.nta.in, and jeemainnic.in, which alter URLs to mimic authenticity. Official access requires no payment, and suspicious sites should be reported. Applications for the April session are already open, and for queries, contact 011-40759000 or jeemain@nta.ac.in.
