Owen Caissie hit a two-run walk-off homer in the ninth inning to give the Miami Marlins a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday at loanDepot park. The win completed a 3-0 series sweep and marked just the third 3-0 start in franchise history. Caissie delivered the decisive blow while wearing the Marlins' new throwback teal uniforms.
MIAMI -- In a thrilling bottom of the ninth, Owen Caissie crushed a 93.8 mph changeup from Victor Vodnik over the right-field wall for his first career walk-off hit. The 23-year-old Canadian, MLB Pipeline's No. 40 prospect acquired in the Edward Cabrera trade, entered as a pinch-hitter earlier and overcame an ankle tweak from the previous at-bat. Xavier Edwards led off with a single, Javier Sanoja doubled, setting the stage after Liam Hicks' double play threatened to end the inning empty.
