Leksands IF has signed veteran center Patrik Zackrisson to a one-year contract. The 38-year-old former captain returns after one season with Södertälje SK.
The club announced the move on July 24. Zackrisson began his senior career with Frölunda and later played for Rögle, Linköping and Skellefteå, as well as in the Swiss NL and KHL.
During his first stint with Leksand from 2019 he appeared in 302 games and collected 152 points while serving as captain for five seasons. Last year he recorded 36 points in 64 games for Södertälje before the team was eliminated in the semifinal.
Zackrisson said he is entering his 21st elite season and called the return the most inspiring task of his career. Sports chief Jesper Ollas highlighted the forward’s experience, leadership and two-way play as key assets for the club’s push back to the SHL.
