Persona5: The Phantom X launches version 3.3 update

Sega and Perfect World Games have announced the version 3.3 update for Persona5: The Phantom X, set to launch on March 5, 2026. The update introduces new events tied to Lunar New Year celebrations and additional ways to obtain characters and items. It also includes shop changes and limited-time activities in the game's social spaces.

The version 3.3 update for Persona5: The Phantom X arrives on March 5, 2026, bringing a range of new content focused on Lunar New Year themes. The main event, titled “Dancing with the Happy-Go-Lucky Lions,” will run until March 19, 2026. Accompanying it are the Fireworks Festival, available until March 18, and the Lunar New Year Greetings event, which lasts until March 19.

A new outfit for the protagonist, “Lunar New Year Wonder,” becomes obtainable through the in-game shop under Goods. This costume appears in battles, Palace exploration, All-out Attack, and Highlight animations. To mark the update's release, the outfit is discounted until April 2, 2026, with the Meta Jewel cost reduced from 3,600 to 3,240.

Login bonuses tied to the Lunar New Year extend through April 2. Players logging in during the period receive a Lunar Firecrackers frame. Seven days of login yield 10 Platinum Tickets, while 14 days unlock a Lunar Lanterns profile design plus other rewards.

The update expands acquisition options for the five-star Phantom Thief Yumi Shiina and her exclusive weapon. These can be obtained via Phantom Idol Draft X, Thief’s Cognitite Shards, a five-star Cognitite Case, or the Salamander Coin Exchange. Salamander Coins are traded for five-star weapons at the Airsoft Shop in Shibuya.

Weapon compatibility sees adjustments: characters with alternate names, such as Firecracker Yaoling, equip only variant-specific exclusive weapons, though previously released weapons remain usable for earlier versions.

Shop enhancements include adding the Wonder-exclusive weapon Purgatory and its Purgatory Shards to the Joy Medal Exchange. The Repression Medal II and III exchanges now offer Skill Cards, usable for teaching Personas abilities in Persona Training under certain conditions.

In social spaces, a Chinese Lion Dance capsule toy appears in Kichijoji until April 30, 2026. New crane game prizes, featuring Black Frost and Mini Jack-o’-Lantern plushies, are available until April 16.

Persona5: The Phantom X is set in a Tokyo devoid of human desires, featuring a new protagonist who balances school life and cognitive dungeon exploration. It includes a Highlight Gauge for unique thief skills in combat and supports up to five party members. The game is available on PC via Steam, iOS, and Android in the West.
