President Marcos expressed gratitude to the Presidential Security Command during its 128th anniversary for safeguarding his family and upholding national stability.
In a speech at Malacañang Park on Friday, Marcos highlighted how the PSC's protection allows him to focus on his duties. “I feel at ease during engagement because we know that you are there,” he said. He also noted the unit's upgraded capabilities and improved facilities, aided by First Lady Liza Marcos.
The First Lady posted thanks on Facebook the next day, commending the PSC's dedication. The command traces its origins to 1897 under Emilio Aguinaldo and was renamed from the Presidential Security Group in 2023. It is currently led by Rear Admiral Andro Val Abayon.
Marcos emphasized the personal sacrifices of PSC members, who work to secure both the presidency and democratic institutions.
