President Ruto inspects Bomas construction during Nairobi security lockdown

President William Ruto visited the ongoing Bomas of Kenya construction project while Nairobi was under tight security during the second anniversary of the Gen Z protests.

President Ruto used the occasion to urge Kenyans to reject divisive politics and tribalism. He warned political leaders against statements that incite hatred and regional divisions, saying they threaten national unity.

“We do not want to allow divisive and hateful politics to thrive in the country. Every leader should present their plans, agenda and vision for Kenya. Kenyans have the ability to identify the agenda that will benefit the country,” President Ruto said.

Last week the president signed the Finance Bill 2026 into law ahead of the date and used his speech to explain controversial issues while announcing measures to benefit citizens through the final budget of his first term.
