Rafael Leao unsure over AC Milan future

Portugal forward Rafael Leao said he does not know if he will remain at AC Milan beyond the current contract period. The winger, linked with a move to Fenerbahce, spoke about the possibility of a new experience while confirming he plans to report for training on July 29.

Leao addressed the speculation in an interview with Brazilian podcast Podpah. He confirmed prior discussions with the club about a potential departure but stressed his commitment as long as he remains with the team.

“I’ve already spoken with the club about the possibility of trying a new experience,” Leao said. “I don’t know what will happen, I have to show up at Milanello on the 29th, and as long as I’m there, I will always give my best and respect the shirt that has given me everything.”

The forward is under contract for two more seasons. He scored nine Serie A goals and recorded three assists in a season that ended with Milan finishing fifth, missing Champions League qualification.

AC Milan begin pre-season with a friendly against Celtic on Saturday, followed by matches against Inter Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United.
