Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin has been named the recipient of Guldpucken, awarded to the top Swedish ice hockey player of the year.
The Swedish Ice Hockey Association and Expressen selected Dahlin for the honor on the strength of his performance during the 2025/2026 campaign. It marks the 70th time the prize has been presented.
Dahlin, who serves as captain in Buffalo, earned a Norris Trophy nomination and a spot on the NHL Second All-Star Team. He played a central role in ending the Sabres' 15-year playoff drought.
In comments after the announcement, Dahlin said the award felt like a great honor given the list of previous winners. The jury noted his growth into one of the league's elite defensemen and his contributions for Tre Kronor at the Olympics in Milan.
