Rassie Erasmus surpassed Jake White as the longest-serving Springboks coach after a 42-28 win over Scotland in Pretoria on 11 July.

Erasmus has held multiple roles with the team since 2018, including as director of rugby and head coach. His side has recorded 69 wins, 24 losses and one draw over eight years.

SA Rugby president Mark Alexander noted that the Boks’ winning ratio is 13% above the historical average of 63%. CEO Rian Oberholzer described Erasmus as the greatest coach to lead the Springboks.

The team will face Wales in Durban this weekend. Erasmus is set to coach until the 2031 World Cup.
