Robert Habeck kritiserer den israelske regering i Gaza og på Vestbredden

Tidligere vicekansler Robert Habeck har rettet en skarp kritik mod den israelske regerings handlinger i Gaza-striben og på Vestbredden. Han udtalte sig under en live-optagelse af ZEIT-podcasten i Hamborg.

Habeck understregede, at en sikker stat for jødisk liv er afgørende ud fra et tysk historisk perspektiv. Han satte tydelige ord på den uretfærdighed, som Benjamin Netanyahus regering har begået. Den brutale reaktion på terrorangrebet den 7. oktober 2023 har ifølge ham ikke styrket Israels sikkerhed, men derimod skabt vrede og tab i Gaza. Han kritiserede bosættere på Vestbredden, som med brutal vold driver palæstinensere på flugt. Dette er i bund og grund terrorisme, sagde Habeck. Der er behov for et genopbygningsprogram, men Netanyahus regering ser ud til at ønske, at Gaza forbliver en evig flygtningelejr. Habeck anerkendte, at Tyskland kun har begrænset indflydelse i regionen. Kun ambassadør Steffen Seibert spiller en relevant rolle dér. Han planlægger ikke et politisk comeback.
