SBT reporter Lisa Gomes reported being pushed and verbally harassed by MC Ryan SP's security team while trying to interview the singer's wife outside the prison on Thursday (April 23). The incident followed a prayer circle, shortly after the Federal Court ordered preventive detention for the funk artist on money laundering suspicions. Gomes stated she will not back down and demands respect for journalists.
Lisa Gomes posted a video on social media describing the incident. "We waited for the prayer to end and then I tried to talk to Giovana. That's when a security guard tried to pull me away, pushing me. Then I saw other people from the singer's team start agitating the fans, who began harassing me," the reporter vented.
The commotion took place outside the prison where MC Ryan SP, real name Ryan Santana dos Santos, has been held since April 15 as part of Operation Narco Fluxo. The Federal Court of the 5th Federal Court in Santos converted the temporary arrests to preventive for him and MC Poze do Rodo (Marlon Brendon Coelho Couto da Silva), following a Police Federal request. The operation probes an organized crime group suspected of money laundering through illegal bets and raffles, with over R$1.6 billion in financial movement.
The ruling came hours after the Superior Court of Justice granted habeas corpus to the detainees, deeming the initial extension of detention irregular. MC Poze's defense, via lawyer Fernando Henrique Cardoso, expressed confidence in the judiciary. "There is nothing new regarding Marlon Brandon in this new prison decree. We will present the reasons to revoke this arrest to the Justice, always confident in the Judiciary Power," it stated.
Gomes stressed she will keep covering the case and demanding respect. "I felt disrespected and I will go after it because I fought hard to get where I am and I demand respect," she concluded.
