A total of 378 pilgrims from the first group from Probolinggo arrived in Surabaya on Monday night with faster immigration processing thanks to the seamless corridor service.

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa welcomed their arrival at the Surabaya Hajj Dormitory and appreciated the new system. The service allows checks via iris scans without long queues.

Head of the East Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Novianto Sulastono explained that the process for 378 pilgrims was completed in less than 40 minutes with 99.9 percent accuracy. The previous manual system took two to three hours.

Chair of PPIH Debarkasi Surabaya Mohammad As’adul Anam stated that East Java is the second region after Jakarta to implement this service. He hopes subsequent groups will also proceed smoothly without issues.
