In Pueblo Viejo, Veracruz, a municipality of historical and strategic importance in oil activity, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Governor Rocío Nahle García led the commemoration of the 88th anniversary of the Oil Expropriation, joined by energy sector workers.Sheinbaum praised Nahle's role as Energy Secretary in the previous administration, when Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) was consolidated, the Deer Park refinery was acquired, and the Olmeca Refinery in Dos Bocas was built. The latter processes up to 340,000 barrels per day, aiding fuel self-sufficiency through Mexican specialists' efforts.In her speech, the president stated: “La riqueza energética de México pertenece al pueblo. México seguirá siendo una nación libre y soberana, porque el petróleo, el gas, el viento, el sol y los recursos de nuestra tierra tienen un solo dueño legítimo: el pueblo de México. México no se vende, México se defiende”.Energy Secretary Luz Elena González Escobar highlighted the event's significance on a new Mexican-built offshore oil platform, showcasing sector modernization.Pemex CEO Víctor Rodríguez Padilla announced the Petroleum Advisory Commission, led by Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Solórzano, to provide strategic analysis and bolster state company decisions.
