Slovakia opens fully funded scholarships for Kenyans for 2026/2027

The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Nairobi and the Ministry of Education have announced five fully funded scholarship opportunities for Kenyans to pursue bachelor's, master's, and PhD studies at public universities in Slovakia for the 2026/2027 academic year. Programmes cover fields including education, science, engineering, health, agriculture, and technology. Applications are due by April 30.

The Ministry of Education announced these opportunities on March 31, 2026, targeting students aged 18 to 25.
The scholarships cover tuition fees, accommodation, and subsistence allowances for the full duration of studies.
Successful applicants must cover their own airfare, around Ksh 120,000 to 150,000 (EUR 800-1,000), and have additional Ksh 120,000 for initial expenses.

Available programmes include Teacher Training and Education Science, Economics and Management, Ecological and Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology, Agriculture and Landscape, Forestry, Veterinary Medicine, General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Healthcare Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Computer Science.

Studies will be conducted in the Slovak language, with selected students undergoing a free one-year intensive preparation at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.

Application forms are available at Ministry offices or its website. Completed forms with certified documents should be submitted to the Director of Higher Education at Room 2701, Telposta Towers, by April 30, followed by online submission via the Slovak Government portal by May 25, 2026.
The Ministry urged eligible students to follow guidelines closely to seize this rare fully funded international study opportunity.
