The Pittsburgh Steelers anticipate third-year offensive lineman Troy Fautanu will perform at a Pro Bowl level after his move to left tackle for the 2026 season.
Steelers beat writer Ray Fittipaldo reported the team's high expectations during an appearance on 93.7 The Fan. He noted that the organization would not have shifted Fautanu if it did not believe he could excel at the position.
Fautanu played right tackle as a rookie and in his second year, logging 1,031 regular-season snaps. He graded 66.7 overall from Pro Football Focus and allowed 25 pressures along with two sacks.
The move comes after Broderick Jones suffered a neck injury that raised long-term concerns. Fautanu originally played left tackle in college at Washington, and his college experience is expected to aid the transition.
Fautanu will line up alongside close friend Mason McCormick, who is shifting to left guard, while Dylan Cook moves to right tackle.
