Sturgill Simpson, performing as Johnny Blue Skies & the Dark Clouds, addressed fan backlash over ticket prices for his upcoming 'Mutiny for the Masses' tour. In an Instagram post, he insisted that prices remain the same as last year except for a $10 increase on general admission pit tickets. He attributed complaints to inflation and scalpers while noting bigger venues allow more lower-priced seats.
Tickets for the 'Mutiny for the Masses' tour went on sale this week during the pre-sale period ahead of the general on-sale on Friday. Fans quickly voiced complaints on platforms like Reddit about high prices, though only platinum tickets are currently available without a pre-sale password, making full comparisons difficult. Simpson pushed back directly on Instagram, writing, “Inflation, fuel, and all other related touring costs have increased exponentially in the last year. However, despite some saying otherwise, I’m afraid our ticket prices have not. High end ticket and low end ticket prices are the exact same, and the average ticket price is the exact same. I know because I insisted on it.”
