Suspect arrested in Tangerang body-in-sack murder case

Police have arrested the suspect in the murder of Danu Warta Saputra, whose body was found wrapped in a sack in Tangerang. The perpetrator, initials SA, was captured in Lampung after tracing the victim's missing motorcycle led investigators there. His confession reveals chilling details of the crime.

The case of an unidentified body found in bushes near the Tangerang toll bridge on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, has now been solved. The victim was 20-year-old Danu Warta Saputra. Suspect SA, aged 30, was arrested at his home in Lampung on Monday, November 24, 2025, by a joint team from the Criminal Investigation Unit of Cikupa Police Sector and the Tangerang Regency Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

The breakthrough came from tracing the victim's missing motorcycle. "This case was uncovered in less than a week after investigators followed the trail of the victim's motorcycle transfers," said Tangerang Regency Police Chief, Commissioner Big Police Andi Muhammad Indra Waspada Amirullah, on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

The motorcycle was found in the Kemiling area, Bandar Lampung, on November 19, 2025, after passing through six people: AR, L, H, RS, RH, and E. All have been secured, though motor theft charges are still under investigation.

The murder occurred on Friday, November 14, 2025, around 7:30 p.m. at the victim's rented room in Kampung Bunut, Pasir Jaya Village, Cikupa. "Based on the examination, the murder happened on Friday, November 14, 2025, around 7:30 p.m. at the victim's rented room in Kampung Bunut, Pasir Jaya Village, Cikupa," stated Indra Waspada.

The suspect slit the victim's throat with a kitchen knife while he slept, then smothered his face with a pillow. The body was wrapped in a white sack and black plastic. The suspect discarded the knife and pillow in trash at Pasar Kemis, and the victim's phone and wallet in a drainage channel in the Sukadamai industrial area.

On early Saturday, November 15, 2025, around 2:30 a.m., SA dumped the body at the discovery site using the victim's motorcycle. The next day, he sold the motorcycle to someone with initials A for Rp5.3 million.
