Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw said he wishes his passing numbers were stronger for personal reasons but remains satisfied with his achievements.
Bradshaw made the comments in a video posted on July 21. He noted that for ego's sake he would have liked 400 touchdown passes and a 70 percent completion rate.
The former quarterback described his role in business terms. "I was hired to quarterback a team and win, and you do that by winning championships. So, I did my job," he said.
Bradshaw finished his 14-year career with 27,989 passing yards, 212 touchdowns and 210 interceptions. He went 4-0 in Super Bowls and earned MVP honors in two of them. He is one of only three starting quarterbacks to win four titles, alongside Joe Montana and Tom Brady.
The NFL was less pass-oriented during Bradshaw's era, and he called his own plays. His numbers compare favorably to contemporary Roger Staubach, who recorded 22,700 yards, 153 touchdowns and 109 interceptions.
