Tesla app leak details V2G earnings, unveils Voyager navigation

Following the February launch of its Powershare Grid Support program, a Tesla app code leak has revealed vehicle-to-grid (V2G) earning details, including notifications and opt-out controls for owners. Analyzed by @Tesla_App_iOS, the leak also previews the Voyager navigation overhaul and Tesla Insurance app enhancements.

A March 8, 2026, analysis of Tesla's latest app code by @Tesla_App_iOS has exposed deeper implementation of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) features, building on the Powershare Grid Support program launched in Texas for Cybertruck owners. The app will now feature live data displays showing vehicles discharging power to the grid during peak demand, with notifications for Tesla Electric plan subscribers to participate and earn money or bill credits.

Eligibility requires a compatible Cybertruck or future model with Powershare hardware. Owners retain control via an opt-out button to pause events, such as before long drives, preserving battery charge. The app will handle compatibility checks automatically.

In addition to V2G expansions, the leak details 'Voyager,' a next-generation navigation system with multi-stop routing, elevation/weather tracking, and hardware requirements for Ryzen-equipped vehicles or Cybertrucks, potentially rivaling tools like A Better Routeplanner.

Other updates include a revamped Tesla Insurance interface with a swipeable policy carousel and a native digital ID card for offline proof of insurance, replacing static PDFs.

Tesla delays CarPlay integration over maps compatibility and iOS adoption

Tesla's plans to add Apple CarPlay to its vehicles have been delayed by a compatibility issue between Apple Maps and its own navigation software during autonomous driving. The company requested engineering changes from Apple, which were implemented in a later iOS 26 update, but slow adoption of the software prompted a pause. With iOS 26 now on 74% of recent iPhones, Tesla may accelerate the rollout.

A new study modeling the San Francisco Bay Area concludes that vehicle-to-grid technology from electric vehicles can stabilize the power grid but requires proactive infrastructure upgrades. Researchers project rising EV and solar adoption will strain the system without new transformers and transmission lines. The findings emphasize combining V2G with grid improvements to support renewables.
