Tesla has rolled out its 2026 Summer Update, adding expanded Grok voice controls and navigation improvements to its vehicles. The software introduces several new features for drivers and passengers. It is now being distributed to cars in waves.
Tesla detailed the update on July 21, listing multiple additions. Grok can now make phone calls, search and play music, adjust climate controls, open the glovebox, and answer questions about the vehicle.
Navigation features have been enhanced. Automatic Navigation now learns regular habits such as school drop-offs or gym visits. The system also prioritizes routes drivers have used before.
Mobile app changes include viewing and sharing Full Self-Driving statistics, setting a desired battery arrival energy percentage, and uploading custom vehicle wraps without a USB drive. Caraoke now scores performances in Park mode and saves high scores to the driver profile.
Additional updates cover a rear display lock for parental controls, Supercharger searches by venue name, and browser support for cameras and microphones. New Model 3 and Model Y vehicles receive updated welcome animations.
