The global non-profit organization The AI Collective held an event in Neiva as part of Humans in AI Week. Camilo Navarro led discussions on the human role in artificial intelligence development.
The event took place last Thursday in Neiva, one of more than 200 cities participating simultaneously in Humans in AI Week from June 1 to 8. Camilo Navarro, the local leader of the organization, stated: “The human being must shape AI, not the other way around.” The AI Collective, founded in 2023 in San Francisco, seeks to align technological development with human values. Navarro explained that AI can help Huila companies create high-value-added products beyond coffee and cacao. Other participants, such as Edwin Valencia and Erick Hernández, highlighted the use of autonomous systems to optimize processes in local SMEs. The initiative promotes networking with clear commitments instead of informal meetings.
