The Chi season 8 casts Stranger Things' Anthony B. Jenkins as Devante

The Chi's upcoming final season has added Anthony B. Jenkins, known for playing a Vecna victim in Stranger Things season 5, as Devante, the son of Emmett and Shay. The character will move in with his dad and Kiesha after facing trouble at school. Several other recurring guest stars join the Chicago-set series.

TVLine exclusively learned that The Chi season 8 welcomes a roster of new recurring guest stars. Anthony B. Jenkins portrays Devante, while Laila Odom, from BET+'s Zatima, plays Jordan, Keith's girlfriend and a nurse with lingering street ties. Additional cast includes Darryl Dunning II from BMF as Rafi, one of Nuck's enforcers; Biko Eisen-Martin from Power Book II: Ghost as reformed gangster Smitty; Akilah A. Walker from Bel-Air as Smitty's girlfriend Amaya; and newcomer Liza Jessie Peterson as Patience, Rashaad's activist attorney. Production on the Paramount+ with Showtime series began in January, promising the show's coldest winter yet, where life-or-death choices collide with legacy, conflict, joy, and pain. Series creator Lena Waithe announced last October that season 8 would conclude the series. 'When I created The Chi, it wasn't just about making a TV show — it was about owning our narratives and telling our stories with truth, care, nuance, and complexity,' Waithe said. 'After much reflection, we have made the decision to end The Chi with Season 8... I am committed to delivering a final season that our Chi family deserves.' Returning series regulars include Birgundi Baker, Jacob Latimore, Shamon Brown Jr., Luke James, Michael V. Epps, Jason Weaver, and Hannaha Hall, alongside numerous guest stars.
