The wake of musician Carlos Alberto Solari began on Sunday at the Polideportivo José María Gatica in Villa Domínico. More than 200,000 people passed through the site in a line that extended up to seven kilometers.
The wake began at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, ahead of the scheduled time. The body of Indio Solari, who died at 77 from a non-traumatic stroke after a decade with Parkinson’s, remained in the arena at Avenida Mitre 5000. The family stated the farewell would continue “until it is necessary” so all fans could pay tribute. Governor Axel Kicillof visited and described the scene as a “popular farewell” with people entering who “cry, are torn but also thank”. The national government offered Tecnópolis but the family chose Buenos Aires province after talks between Máximo Kirchner and Kicillof. A security operation included free tolls on the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway and medical posts.
