Designer Amy Smilovic presented the Tibi Resort 2027 collection this week, emphasizing brand identity through practical and unconventional pieces. The lineup includes modular outerwear and a distinctive color palette drawn from an unexpected source.
Amy Smilovic highlighted the resort season as an opportunity to focus on Tibi's core values. She described the process in the brand's downtown showroom, noting a commitment to elevated yet relaxed clothing with added humor. Key items feature a flannel anorak with a hidden modular belt and a weatherproof trench coat designed with adjustable belt loops. Candy-colored nylon peplums appear layered over basic tees and maxi skirts. The color scheme of rich brown, emerald green, and acidic chartreuse originated from a customer suggestion via direct message, leading Smilovic to explore works by painter Milton Avery. A factory error also produced an ultra-wide triangular peep-toe shoe that the designer embraced. Smilovic stressed the need for prints to feel slightly off-kilter and textural, avoiding trend-driven approaches in favor of deeper reasoning behind each garment.
