Traffic volumes are rising on the R71 between Moria and Polokwane in Limpopo as Zion Christian Church (ZCC) and Saint Engenas pilgrims depart after Easter conferences. Polokwane Municipality Traffic Police have deployed officers along major routes to manage the flow and prioritise road safety.
The flow of traffic has begun to increase on the R71 highway linking Moria and Polokwane in Limpopo province. This surge follows the conclusion of Easter conferences attended by pilgrims from the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) and Saint Engenas, who are now returning to Gauteng and other destinations.
Polokwane Municipality Traffic Police assistant manager Reginald Ramporo confirmed that officers are stationed along key routes. "We are ready waiting for our congregants, the visitors of the province," Ramporo said. "As and when they will be getting back to Gauteng and various destination points of the choice we have deployed our officers along R71, R81, N1 as well, R37 we are very much ready to make sure that road safety is our priority."
The deployments aim to handle the expected heavy traffic and prevent accidents during the pilgrims' journeys home.
