Transjakarta and Mikrotrans to run 24 hours for Lebaran return peak

DKI Jakarta's Transportation Agency has prepared night services to handle the Lebaran 2026 return peak expected on Tuesday. Transjakarta's 14 corridors and select Mikrotrans units will operate 24 hours. Fleet increases target major terminals like Kampung Rambutan and Pulo Gebang.

Jakarta – Syafrin Liputo, head of DKI Jakarta's Transportation Agency (Dishub), confirmed readiness of public transport services for the influx of Lebaran returnees arriving late night to early morning. During an inspection at Kampung Rambutan Terminal in East Jakarta on Tuesday, he announced that Transjakarta's 14 corridors will run 24 hours with extra buses. “Night transport in Jakarta is prepared. Overall, these 14 Transjakarta corridors will operate 24 hours and the number of operational buses has been increased,” said Syafrin Liputo. The services target passengers from key terminals including Kampung Rambutan and Pulo Gebang, with added shuttles to residential areas. Mikrotrans units at terminals like Kampung Rambutan will also operate around the clock. “Not just the 14 corridors, but also Mikrotrans. Several Mikrotrans here at Kampung Rambutan will operate 24 hours,” he added. Safety measures include ramp checks on all buses and health screenings for drivers. Health posts remain available at terminals. “For the return flow to Jakarta, we ensure all prepared buses have undergone fitness checks or ramp checks. The same applies to the drivers,” Syafrin explained. Supporting facilities such as waiting areas and terminal cleanliness have been readied for passenger comfort.
