Ukrainske krigsramte børn spiller med i Storsjöcupen

Holdet Myropil fra Ukraine deltager i årets Storsjöcupen i Östersund takket være private initiativer. Drengene har været hårdt ramt af krigen og har trænet sammen siden vinteren.

Lars og Hege Lindgren tog initiativet, efter at Lars var rejst til Ukraine på motorcykel. Han har arbejdet med ungdom og sport siden 1990'erne og ønskede at hjælpe børn, der er ramt af krigen.

– Jeg har arbejdet med ungdom og sport siden 90'erne og følte, at dette er den nærmeste krig, vi har, så jeg ville tage derhen og se det med egne øjne, siger Lars Lindgren.

En kirke i Stockholm har bidraget økonomisk sammen med private donationer og Storsjöcupen selv. Holdet spiller på Åkreängs fodboldbane i Brunflo i løbet af ugen.
