Criticisms over backgrounds and social media posts have derailed multiple regional designations.
The Ministry of Health confirmed the resignation of Aldo Ibani, who faced questions over alleged sales of counterfeit products and lack of experience, according to social media reports. Luis de la Torre, president of the Valparaíso regional council of the Medical College, questioned his background: “It is hard to understand the appointment of a professional with few years of post-graduation experience.”
Other cases include Hernán Silva, announced as Valparaíso security seremi, but a 2012 administrative sanction for signature forgery and a prior penalty led to the removal of the announcement from social media without explanation. In Los Ríos, Jorge Salazar did not take up the public works seremi role due to irregularities from his time as a sports club president, as no decree was issued.
In Los Lagos, Patricia Dinamarca served six days as education seremi before her appointment was canceled over old social media posts supporting the social outbreak. Alexander Nanjarí, for education in Biobío, was dropped within 24 hours due to posts about age differences in relationships.
The Executive did not respond to La Tercera queries. Sources point to delays and responsibility in the Second Floor team, led by Alejandro Irarrázaval, with Ignacio Dülger and Álvaro Bellolio. Officialists criticize the slowness, nearly a month into the administration.
