Valve has revised its estimates for Steam Controller deliveries following unexpectedly high demand for the device. Customers making new reservations are now told they will receive their orders in 2027. Those who reserved earlier face windows of September 2026, December 2026, or 2027.
The Steam Controller launched on May 4 and sold out rapidly, prompting Valve to introduce a reservation system shortly afterward. The company updated its Steam store page on June 19 to display new time frames based on when reservations were placed.
Valve stated in a blog post that demand exceeded expectations and that it has no plans to stop production. It added that the reservation system has helped with planning but cannot match current order volumes by the end of the year.
New reservations placed now fall into the 2027 window, while earlier ones show one of the three estimated delivery periods. Valve said the estimates will be refined closer to each window.
