The verdict hearing for former Education Minister Nadiem Makarim was held Tuesday at the Corruption Court in Central Jakarta District Court over alleged corruption in Chromebook laptop procurement.
The hearing was led by Chief Judge Purwanto Abdullah and scheduled for 10:00 WIB in the Muhammad Hatta Ali courtroom. Nadiem is a defendant in the alleged corruption case involving the education digitalization program at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology from 2019 to 2022.
The case involves procurement of Chromebook laptops and Chrome Device Management allegedly not in line with plans, causing state losses of Rp2.18 trillion. Nadiem was previously demanded 18 years in prison and replacement funds of Rp5.67 trillion.
Other defendants include Ibrahim Arief, Mulyatsyah, Sri Wahyuningsih, and Jurist Tan who remains at large. Nadiem allegedly received Rp809.59 billion from PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa through PT Gojek Indonesia.
