At the press conference, Taufik Hidayat, wearing detainee clothes, expressed his apology. "I apologize for everything I did. What I did was wrong. I regret it, I apologize," said Taufik Hidayat.
Afif affirmed the family's rejection. "There are no words of forgiveness, he easily says sorry. While my sister is already destroyed like this he says sorry," he said. He also stated he does not want the perpetrator sentenced to death, but handed over to the family.
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi confirmed that the victim's medical costs are covered by the provincial government, estimated at Rp1 billion in two weeks. The Rp250 million reward was redirected to the victim's family after police arrested the perpetrator.
