Severe weather forced cancellations of several performances at the opening night of Primavera Sound in Barcelona on June 4. Organizers halted headlining sets by Doja Cat and Massive Attack along with others due to high winds and rain.
The festival at Parc del Fòrum faced heavy rainfall and winds reaching 80 km per hour on its first day. Organizers canceled performances by Alex G, Mac DeMarco, Bad Gyal, Massive Attack and Doja Cat after safety protocols deemed conditions unsafe. Massive Attack expressed devastation in a statement and noted they had prepared a new version of their 2026 live show for the event. Doja Cat posted that she was ready to perform but safety concerns prevented the set. Oklou performed earlier and later called for better working conditions for staff amid the chaos. Festival organizers apologized and confirmed refunds would begin on June 8. Weather improved the following day with remaining performances including The Cure and Skrillex set to proceed as planned.
