Willy Chavarria reveals Zara collaboration launching March 26

Designer Willy Chavarria has announced a collaboration with Zara, featuring clothing, jewelry and accessories for men and women, set to launch on March 26. The collection, titled Vatísmo, draws from Chicano culture and the designer's inspirations. Chavarria shared details exclusively with Vogue.

Zara continues its active presence in fashion news with a new collaboration from New York Fashion Week designer Willy Chavarria. The collection, spanning men's and womenswear including clothing, jewelry and accessories, will be available on Zara.com and in stores starting March 26, 2026. This follows Zara's announcement of John Galliano re-authoring the brand's past for a September launch from its archives. Chavarria described the partnership as “a way for me to share the elevated aspects of the brand vision with a wider and more democratic audience.” The line is named Vatísmo, the superlative of “vato,” a term from the Chicano community symbolizing friendship, camaraderie, love, community pride and roots. “It’s also a way for people to get more familiar with the women’s vision I have,” Chavarria added. His recent runway show took place in the Dojo de Paris, featuring a reconstructed New York City intersection. The designer drew inspiration from a fantasy of a dramatic family mansion in Mexico City, blending 1980s American series like Dallas and Dynasty with Mexican telenovelas from his childhood. The campaign stars Christy Turlington, photographed by Glen Luchford. Chavarria said, “I wanted us to see her as we have never seen her before. She is incredible in every way.” Highlights include strong-shouldered tailored jackets in tropical-weight wool, patent fabrics and leather, designed for longevity: “I wanted to create things that people will treasure and wear for years and years to come. The quality in these garments is very impressive.” Signature trousers feature wide-leg pleats for women and barrelled, structured fits for men. Other items include various skirts, longline shorts, florals, lace inserts, gem-adorned gold jewelry, and basics like rose-embroidered bodysuits, slogan tees and ribbed socks. Men's pieces feature logo-stamped minishorts and “Chavarria”-emblazoned tees evoking a “Nueva York” club vibe.
