Yamaha is recalling certain 2025 Tenere motorcycles because of a defect that may prevent the turn signals from working correctly. The company has issued a do not drive advisory for the affected bikes.
The recall covers 4173 motorcycles, according to Yamaha’s report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The manufacturer stated that the design of the turn signal circuitry in the meter assembly is inadequate and may stop the system from detecting a circuit break.
Yamaha described the safety risk as the possibility that riders could be unable to signal turns, which might lead to an accident involving injury or death.
Dealers will replace the meter assembly on affected motorcycles at no cost for parts or labor. Unsold units will be fixed before they are sold.
Dealer and owner notifications are planned for June 26 through June 29 2026. Owners can contact Yamaha at 1-800-962-7926 and reference recall number 990190 or reach the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 citing campaign number 26V-367.
